Our Legacy Group is committed to acting in service to veterans, active-duty members, and their families, with a goal to educate, mentor, and assist all within the communities through outreach programs.

Who We Are

Our Legacy Group is a nonprofit fraternal organization, for current and retired U. S. Special Forces soldiers, that was founded by 52 Black chartered members who served in the US Army Special Forces.

  • Mentoring Kids of Veterans by Creation of Summer Camp With Volunteers by OLG Members
  • Mentorship and Support for Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) ROTC Programs
  • Support for High School ROTC Programs

Our Legacy Group (501(c)(19)

Section 501(c)(19) refers to tax-exempt organizations that specifically benefit veterans of the US Armed Forces.

That means the work of 501(c)(19) nonprofit organizations must focus solely on making life better for veterans or current members of the Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, Navy, Space Force, or Coast Guard.

  • Support the overall welfare of veterans.
  • Assist disabled veterans and current members of the US Armed forces and their dependents.
  • Assist the widows and/or orphans of deceased veterans.
  • Provide care (including entertainment!) to hospitalized veterans or members of the US Armed Forces.
  • Create and run programs to uphold the memory of deceased veterans and comfort their survivors.
  • Sponsor or assist with activities of a “patriotic nature.”
  • Provide recreational activities for members of the organization.
